Obituary

Mr. William "Pop" Edwards, Jr., son of the late Blanche and William Edwards, departed this life on September 14, 2009, after a brief illness.

"Pop" attended the public schools of Dorchester County. At an early age, he became a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, and remained a lifelong member until his death.

"Pop" was joined in holy matrimony to Corrine Frazier Edwards. This union was blessed with three children. He was employed by Dempsey Wood Product for many years until his health failed.

To know him was to love him. "Pop" was a friendly, out spoken person, who did not mind lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was a dedicated worker and never gave up no matter what the outcome.

One brother and one grandchild preceded him in death—Sammie Lee Edwards and Cresha "Precious" Williams.

William "Pop" leaves to cherish his memories; his loving wife of the home, Corrine F. Edwards; one daughter, Crystal (Clarence) Williams of Reevesville, SC; three sons, Tarus Edwards of Reevesville, SC, Wayne (Leslie) Edwards of North Charleston, SC and Dewayne Baxter of Syracuse, NY; three sisters, Debra (Ricky) Davis and Linda Moorer both of Pregnall, SC and Betty Dacus of Mims, FL; his mother– and father-in-law, Laruan Frazier and Leon Frazier of St. George, SC; three sisters-in-law, Rosetta (Ronnie) Mitchell of Hollywood, SC, Irene Carn of Titisville, FL and Lurine Carson of Bowman, SC; one brother-in-law, Tony (Debbie) Breaker of St. George, SC; five aunts, Essie Bell (David) Baxter, Martha Carn, Carletha Palmer, Emma Lee (Gerome) Johnson all of St. George, SC and Elouise Mack of Brooklyn, NY; one grand uncle, John (Connie) Breaker; 17 precious grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a special cousin, Arthur Edwards; special friends, Wilson, Tom, Leon and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
