Wayne was born in Dorchester County, South Carolina on August 30, 1963 to the late Blanche and Freddie Utsey.

On April 18, 2016, Wayne was called to eternal rest, after a brief illness. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend.

He attended Williams Memorial Middle School.

Wayne enjoyed listening to country music, and the outdoors.

Wayne was preceded in death by one sister, Cynthia Utsey.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his brothers, Freddie Utsey of Grover, South Carolina, Jarvis (Margret) Utsey of McCormick, South Carolina and Kirk Utsey of Grover, South Carolina; his sisters, Gwendolyn Cusack, Robin Utsey and Tamara Utsey (Roland) all of Grover, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
