Our Holy Father saw fit to call His dear child, Wanda Sue Green Smith home to rest on Friday Morning 23 ^rd 2022.  She began her life on September 30, 1955, as a beloved daughter of the late Deacon Mayfield Green and Deaconess Christen Gilyard Green.

Deaconess Wanda grew up in Bowman and completed school at Bowman High School. She attended Denmark Technical School and completed a licensed Barber certification. She was employed at Amblers Industries in Orangeburg, South Carolina, for many years until her retirement. Later, she became an in-home childcare operator and touched the lives of many children as she served as a caretaker.  She was an excellent baker and cook and started a wonderful industry of baking cakes, pies, and other delicious pastries. She was in hot demand up until her passing.

Deaconess Wanda was a devoted member of Second Providence Baptist Church since her youth.  She grew up singing in the Junior Choir, then the Young Adult Choir, The Voices of Faith, and finally The Senior Choir. She was an avid Sunday School attendant and served as a secretary for the Sunday School.  Sister Wanda was a Pastor's Aid Board member and presently serving as President of the Missionary Society.  She was as involved as anyone could be in serving the church.

Sister Wanda was married to Mr. William Smith, and they were blessed with four beautiful children.  Mr. Smith preceded her death in 2009.

Her legacy of love and service will be remembered and cherished by her faithful son, Derrick Smith of Dallas, Texas; her devoted and loving daughters, Mrs. Renee A. Smith-Bryant, of Orangeburg, South Carolina; Ms. Christian V. Smith of Charlotte, North Carolina; Ms. Janisha N. Smith of Bowman, South Carolina; and a special daughter Sheree' C. Gilyard of Brooklyn, New York; and four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy (Deacon Daniel) Taylor of Dorchester, SC; Mary Ann (Joseph) Heyward of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Mrs. Annie (Cleveland) Hodges of Orangeburg, SC; and Mary Lee (Howard) Sanders of Reeseville, SC; one brother, Mr. Willie J. (Angela) Green; adoring grandchildren Caitlyn Bryant, Christian Bryant, Dylan Smith, special granddaughter, Hailey Johnson, special grandsons, Dupree` Benjamin and Cameron Washington; two uncles, Daniel Green and Sammie Green; two aunts, Maybell G. Littles and Maggie Evans; devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, Second Providence Baptist Church Family, and many friends.
