Obituary

Virginia "Ginia" Carn DeLee was born on August 5, 1952, in Dorchester County, South Carolina, to the late Junior and Martha Wolfe Carn. She departed this life on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at HCA Healthcare Colleton Hospital in Walterboro, South Carolina.

Virginia pursued her education through Dorchester County Schools. She was a devoted member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in St. George, where she served faithfully until her health declined and she was no longer able to participate actively.

Throughout her life, Virginia was known for her unwavering commitment to her family. She often cared for the children of her relatives, embodying a generous spirit and always extending a helping hand to those in need. Her hobbies included playing card games, solving word puzzles, and spending time watching her favorite show, Walker, Texas Ranger.

On May 25, 1978, Virginia Carn united in marriage with Oscar Lester Harold DeLee. Their union was blessed with two children, Glory and Jeannette DeLee. Additionally, Virginia had a son Richard Carn whom her husband reared. She is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar DeLee; her parents, Junior and Martha Carn; her son, Richard Carn; her daughter, Jeannette DeLee; her brothers, Lee Jr. (the late Eva Mae) and Louis Carn (who passed three days prior); her sister, Marie Edwards; and brother-in-law, Walter Mack.

Virginia leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Glory DeLee; four grandchildren: Shania Simmons, Clarence Simmons, Elijah DeLee, and Elayjah DeLee; three great-grandchildren: Austin Simmons, Diamonte Dewesse, and Ka'siyah Deweese. She is also survived by her brothers, Lee (Annette) Carn, Ulysee (Denise) Carn, and Joe Carn; her sisters, Valerie Bradley and Mary Lee (David) Allen; her sister-in-law, Maggie Carn; special friends, Alma Mack and Isaac Jamison; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends. Her warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
