Vernon "Junior" Hallmon was summoned home by God's angels on August 11, 2026.  He was born on December 27, 1954 to the late James and Martha Williams Holman.

Vernon was known as VJ and Glasses.  He was known for his boldness and trash talking, always speaking his mind.  He had a love for dancing.  He was the life of the party.  He also enjoyed working on the farm.

With his marriage to Cindy, this union had four children.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Shawn Hallmon; grandson, Ziemaine Lewis; siblings, Charles Holmon, Vivian H. Gilliard and Harold Holman.

To cherish his loving memories, he leaves: his children, Rico Lewis, Daryl Hallmon and Mary Stanley all of Tabor City, NC; grandchildren, Navia, Zannighia, Zylann, Ocir, and Asliyah all of Tabor City, NC; his siblings, James, Holman of Washington, DC, Willie Mae Polly of Bowie, MD, McGray Holman of Charleston, SC, Martha Brown of the home (caregiver), Herman (Harriet) Holman of Ridgeville, SC (caregiver),and  John Clay Holmon of New Jersey; special nephews, Richard Hollman of Atlanta, GA, Standish Halmon of Washington, DC, Raymond Elmore and Datrelle Johnson both of St. George, SC; special nieces, Alisha Halmon, Nancy Brown, Patsy Gardner and Lowander Polly; five brothers-in-law, Joseph Brown; seven sisters-in-law; two aunts, Mildred Williams of St. George, SC and Helen Jamison of Knoxville, TN; additionally he leaves a special friend, Margie Goodwin; her children he raised like his own, Quintasha Goodwin of Columbia, SC, Sandida Goodwin of St. George, SC and Byron Goodwin of Bowman, SC; grandchildren, Zyniyah Neals, Keisean Rashad Sumpter, Makin Hammond, Kaliyah Mack, Jahleal Goodwin and Za'Nari Goodwin; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

His passing has left a pain in our hearts for all that loved him.  We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived and for the profound effect he had on those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
