First Lady Vernice Holloman Williams, wife of Bishop Benjamin Williams, was the daughter of the late Mr. Lonnie and Mrs. Inez Holloman of Ahoskie, North Carolina.  She was born on July 15, 1944 and departed this life Monday, October 3, 2022.  Her parents were blessed with twelve children of which ten preceded Vernice in death.

Vernice was educated in the public schools of Bertie County, North Carolina.  After graduation from high school, she relocated to Middletown, Connecticut where she met Reverend Benjamin Williams.

After several years, they were united in Holy Matrimony.  To this union they were blessed with two sons, Jakula (preceded Vernice in death) and Antwan.  This union was blessed with 48 wonderful years of marriage.

She was a member of Freedom Worship and Praise Center in Saint George, South Carolina where she served as First Lady/ Mother of the Church.

Vernice precious memories will forever remain with her husband, Bishop Benjamin Williams and son, Antwan of the home, Summerville, SC; sister, Mrs. Alberta (Paul) Young, Summerville, SC; daughter-in-law, Katrice Perkins, Orangeburg, SC; three grandchildren, Aaron Perkins (Angie) and Ayanna Perkins, Summerville, SC and Kinie Perkins, Pittsburg, PA; four great grandchildren, Summerville, SC and Orangeburg, SC; one adopted family, Cleveland, Liz, Khamya and Little CJ Chisolm of Summerville, SC.

Vernice also leaves precious memories with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and friends.
