Verna Mae Smith entered eternal rest on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina.  She was born July 8, 1953 in Harleyville, South Carolina.  She was the daughter of the late Hampton Myers, Sr. and Annie Lee Wilson Myers and the late Harry Lee Hunt, Sr. and Daisy Myers Hunt.

Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Smith, Sr.; her parents; one sister, Lillian Durant; three brothers, Hampton Myers, Jr., Herbert Lee Hunt and Harry Lee Hunts, Jr.

She leaves her cherished sweet memories to her three children, Jimmy Hunt, Arthur Smith, Jr. and Consuelo Smith all of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; three sisters, Adelle Gelzer and Willie Mae Johnson of York, Pennsylvania and Elizabeth Perry of Harleyville, South Carolina; one brother, Sidney Hunt of Miami, Florida; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; a special friend, Fred Jones of St. George, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
