Obituary

Mr. Tommie Lyons was summoned by God's heavenly angels on March 24, 2015. Tommie was born December 13, 1924 to the late Jess Mae Myhan.

Tommie was employed in the Garment District in New York City for several years. He also served as the superintendent of his building. While serving as superintendent, he befriended many of his tenants. He was held in high regard by many in his community. Tommie later worked as a dietary helper at George Washington High School. He retired from the Board of Education in New York City. He was very devoted to his jobs.

Tommie was well known by many people. He was known as
Mr. T in the neighborhood.

Tommie was preceded in death by his wife, Everlina Smith Lyons, one daughter, Julia Eubank and one grandchild, DeCarla Hill.

He leaves to cherish his many fond memories: two daughters, Stacey McLeod Lyons of South Carolina and Patricia Hill of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren, Nakiya Casey, Natasha Casey, Shaquetta Casey and Robert Casey, Jr. all of New York City, Yolanda Hill, Rox Eubank and Debra Eubank all of Baltimore, MD; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; son-in-law, Herbert Moore; one sister, Betty Jones of Atlanta, GA; two sisters-in-law, Lena Dargan of VA and Millie L. Smith of Long Island, NY; four, brothers-in-law, Sam Smith of Long Island, NY, Robert Smith of Bronx, NY, Chimmie Smith of Darlington, SC and Charles Dargan of VA; a host of other relatives and friends.
