Tiajuana Denise Simmons, daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Ree Simmons, was born August 20, 1967 in Dorchester, SC.  Denise as she was affectionately called lived a full and successful life.  She tried to accomplish most of her dreams before she was called into eternal rest on May 15, 2018 at Memorial Baptist Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida.

Denise was a member of Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Church.  Even though she relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, she always kept Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Church close in her heart.

She was educated in the schools of Dorchester County and furthered her education in Jacksonville, Florida receiving her credentials as a Home Health Care Nurse.  Denise was a hard worker and had compassion for the patients that she took care of.  She made a huge difference in her clients' lives and did so with a smile and caring attitude.  She was loved and respected by her co-workers.  To know her was to love her.

Denise was preceded in death by her brother, Rudolph Simmons.

Cherishing her memories are her precious children, Quandre Brinson, and Lakwanza Simmons; one sister, Gertie Simmons; one sister-in-law, Evangelist Debbie Simmons; four aunts, Lila Bell Moore, Mary Julia Brown, Lizzie Mae Davis and one adopted aunt, Bertha Lee Sims; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
