Thelma Shuler Washington, was born October 12, 1927 to the late Casper and Georgiann Shuler of St. George, S.C. She was the youngest of six brothers and one sister. She went home to glory Monday, June 21, 2010, after an extended illness. She was a resident of St. George Healthcare Center.

Thelma Shuler Washington, joined Bethel A.M.E Church at an early age. She was a former member of the Bethel Adult Choir.
Thelma, was educated in Dorchester County School System.

Thelma, was joined in Holy Matrimony with the late Jesse Washington, Sr. With this union seven children were born; one preceded her in death. She was a life-long homemaker and caretaker.

Thelma leaves to cherish her memories: Four daughters: Daisy Washington of St. George, SC; Elois (Bishop Arthur) Cobbs of Reevesville, SC; Rita Fogle of Orangeburg, SC; Earlease (Cleveland) Ray of Ridgeville, SC. Two Sons: Jesse Washington, Jr. of St. George, SC; Harold (Francis) Wahington of Fayetteville, NC.
