Mr. Shelia Martino of 248 Britt-Green Road, Saint George, SC, was summoned by God's Heavenly Angels, Sunday morning at 11:10 a.m., October 31, 2021, at the Trident Medical Center, Charleston, S.C., after a brief illness. Mr. Martino was born July 27, 1942, in Dorchester County, S.C., a son of late Mr. Willie Martino and Mrs. Ruby Mae Carson Martino.
He attended Williams Memorial High School and was an active member of the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church and served as a member on the Usher Board. At a young age, he migrated to Brooklyn, NY, where he lived and worked for many years before returning to his hometown in St. George, SC.
Those who proceeded him in death are his two brothers: the late Mr. Willie Lee Martino and the late Mr. Ray Martino; his three sisters: the late Mrs. Mamie Mack, the late Ms. Virginia Martino and the late Mrs. Claretta Bonaparte. His brothers-in-law: the late Mr. Wallace Carmichael, the late Mr. William Westbur, the late Mr. Vernell Murray and the late Mr. James Mack. His sisters -in-law: the late Mrs. Gladys Carmichael and the late Mrs. Ruth Green.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Janie R. Green on July 25, 1964. He leaves to mourn and cherish his precious memories his devoted wife, Janie R. Martino of Saint George, SC; one son, Barry S. (Jackie) Martino of Saint George; three daughters, Mrs. Daphne (Willie) Smith of Goose Creek, SC, Mrs. Adrienne (Steven) Ortiz of Jefferson, NJ, and Ms. Jennifer K. Ashley of Columbia, SC; three sisters, Mrs. Sadie Mae Murray, Ms. Deloris Martino and Ms. Brenda Martino; six brothers-in-law, Rev. David Green, Ms. Margaret Westbury; Mr. Franklin (Evelyn) Westbury, Deacon Charlie Jr. (Daisy) Green and Mr. Joseph (Elizabeth) Green; two sisters -in- law, Ms. MaryAnn Martino and Mrs. Ann Martino; one aunt, Ms. Sheba Carson of Brooklyn, NY; eight loving grandchildren, LaQuana Martino, JeVele Martino, Sherrick Martino, Shedrick Martino, Barilyn Martino, Isaiah Martino, and Olivia Ortiz, four great-grandchildren, Kristiana Martino, Myreona Martino, Haven Cherry-Martino, and Amonté Martino, two goddaughters, Operadella (Paul) Green-Cobbs, and Kim Westbury, special brothers, Samuel "Top"(Mary) Carson, Ulysses "C-Bird" (Barbara) Carson and Nathaniel Carson, a special daughter, ShaTasha (Kerrin) Applewhite-Corley, a special niece Doretha Martino; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
