Obituary

With broken hearts and deep reverence, we celebrate the life of Sevani Makai Stevenson, who transitioned from his earthly life, with his beloved sister Miyani Islar, on September 20, 2025, at the tender age of 6. Sevani was born on March 17, 2019, in the Charlotte City limits of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, to his loving parents Jerrean Stevenson and Tiona Islar. He was raised in Rock Hill, SC before moving to San Antonio, TX.

A bright and spirited young soul, Sevani was a beacon of light to all who knew him. His radiant smile could light up any room, and his joyful presence brought warmth, laughter, and love wherever he went. He was a student at Katie Reed Elementary School in San Antonio, Texas, where he made many friends and touched the hearts of teachers and classmates alike. Sevani was richly blessed with a loving and devoted family whose roots span across four cherished communities in South Carolina: the St. George, Rock Hill, Aiken, and Clemson areas. His life, though brief, was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments that will be treasured forever. He loved swimming, school, and exploring new foods. Known for his laughter and vibrant personality, Sevani made every moment brighter.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his devoted father, Jerrean Stevenson, and his mother. His grandparents; Michael Stevenson, Evelyn Kitt Wilson (John), Thomas Islar, and  Shala Holmes Great-grandparents; Ronnie McCullough, Ellen Stevenson McCullough, Bishop Herbert Kitt, Mother Ann Kitt, Reba Epps, and Carrie Holmes. Uncles; Johnan Wilson, Curtis Gadson (Brenda), Elder Herbert D. Kitt, Minister Darold Kitt (Diane), Pastor Joseph Kitt (Cassandra), Justice Holmes, and William Islar. Though his time on earth was short, his legacy of light, love, and laughter will continue to shine in the hearts of those he touched. His memory will forever live on as a reminder of the beauty of a pure and gentle soul.
