Obituary

Samuel "Foxy" Brown, Sr. the son of the late Clarence "Yank" and Sarah Ellen Hezekiah Brown, was born June 1, 1941 in Dorchester County, SC.  He grew up in a Christian home.  At an early age, he joined Good Hope Baptist Church in St. George, SC.  He attended Williams Memorial High School.  He left home at an early age and traveled to Florida where he worked for a brief period.  Upon leaving Florida, he ventured north to New York.  It was there where he worked in various occupations for many years before returning to South Carolina.  Upon returning home he worked in various capacities until retiring.

He was married to the late Virginia Carson.  He was preceded in death by both parents, a sister, Annie Eure and two brothers, Allen and McArthur Brown.

He leaves to cherish fond memories: two daughters, Vanessa L. Brown (Charles) Hunter, Staten Island, NY and Tywanda V. Keith, Myrtle Beach, SC; two sons, Kenneth Holloway, Alden, NY and Samuel S. Brown, Jr., Brooklyn, NY; five sisters, Daisy (Elliott) Locke, Columbia, SC, Rosa Brown, Reevesville, SC, Lettie and Dianne Brown, Landover, MD and Barbara Brown, Bronx, NY; three brothers, Luder Brown, Reevesville, SC, Horace (Audrey) Brown, Sumter, SC and Clarence Brown, Summerville, SC; three sisters-in-law, Eleonara and Margie Brown, Reevesville, SC and Elease Williams, Bowman, SC; one brother-in-law, Henry L. Carson, St. George, SC; stepchildren, Dawn R. Brown, Reevesville, SC, Darlene Williams, Eartha Dillard and Robert Neals of SC; five grandchildren, Brianna and Danielle Hunter, Kenya Holloway, Trayvel and Tony Rashode Keith; two great grands, special nieces and nephews, Katrina Brown, Tamika Locke, Xiomara Locke, Indya Locke, Ja'Nae Wells, Crystal Brown, Marcus Brown, Philip Locke and Shawn Colter; bonus sister, Shirley Farmer, St. George, SC, special friends, Ms. Daisy Neals and Ms. Rosa Bell Simmons; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
