Mr. Samuel "Crip" Fair, son of the late Benjamin Fair, Sr. and Bessie Mae Fair, was born August 15, 1955 in Colleton County. He departed his life on February 8, 2013 at his home following an extended illness. He attended the public schools of Colleton County and Denmark Technical College. He was an electrician with Judy Electric for many years. He also worked as a maintenance man at several hotels. He loved and enjoyed the work that he did.

At an early age Samuel joined St. John Baptist Church. He was a member of the Mighty Tears of Joy singing group for a year and a half.

On October 14, 1993 he was united in holy matrimony to Carrie Fair.

Samuel was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel Fair and Benjamin Fair, Jr.

Samuel leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, his wife, Carrie Fair of the home; two daughters, Victoria Fair of Bennington, VT and Christy (Edric) White-Stephens of Dalzell, SC; three sons, Keith Simmons of Cottageville, SC, Samuel "Terell" (LaTonya) White of Reevesville, SC and Sanquan (D'Angela) White of the home; eight grandchildren, Byron, Gerrod, Khadary, Jaden, Quartez, Tamia, Jahmal and Angel; four sisters, Gladys Elliott, Sally Richardson and Lou Bertha (Harvey) Oliver all of Walterboro, SC and Barbara (William) Fair-Broswell of New Newark, NJ; six sisters-in-law, Jessie Ruth (Joseph) Clayton of Dorchester, SC, Millie Sue Thompson of Mims, FL, Peggie White of Palm Bay, FL, Betty Martino and Wilidena (Kevin) James both of Titusville, FL and Katherine Fair of Germany; three brothers-in-law, Daniel White and Henry White both of Reevesville, SC and Maceo Brothers of Orlando, FL; one aunt, Arlene Fair of Robertville, SC; a special nephew, Paul Elliott, Jr.; a special niece, Paulette Elliott-Nesbit, special friends, Roger Rhett, Jackie White; Nathaniel Oliver and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
