Mr. Samuel "Buck" Brown, Jr., was called home on Sunday, November 15, 2009, at his residence. He was born on January 24, 1936, in Dorchester County, South Carolina to the late Samuel Brown and Mary Britt Brown.

Buck grew up in Harleyville, South Carolina. He attended school in Dorchester County where he completed his Education at Kennedy High School in 1956. After graduating, he joined the United States Army where he later received an honorable discharge.

Upon leaving the military, Buck returned to South Carolina only for a brief stay before he migrated to New York City. In New York, Buck became employed with the New York City Transit System and worked there for many years. In May 2001, Buck retired and relocated back to South Carolina.

Buck leaves to mourn his precious memories: seven children, Bernard Brown of Miami, Florida, Jerome Brown of Lawten, Oklahoma, Keith Brown of Harleyville, South Carolina, Anthony Brown and Rosalyn Irving-Obey both of Brooklyn, New York Emmanuel Brown of Bronx, New York and Duane Brown of South Korea; eight grandchildren, Ashley and Asha Walker, Jaiden Obey, Terrell, Shawn,
Ebony, Delores, Rosa and Jonathan Brown; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Kenneth) Weatherspoon and Gloria (Daniel) Boyd both of Harleyville, South Carolina, Lizzie Lee of Richmond, Virginia; two brothers, Walter (Lystra) Brown of Brooklyn, New York and Jestro Brown of Harleyville, South Carolina; a lifetime companion, Martha Brown of Brooklyn, New York; one son-in-law, William Obey of Brooklyn, New York; one daughter-in-law, Shalita Brown; two aunts, Zoria Cokley and Goldie Dunnings both of Brooklyn, New York; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
