Ms. Ruth Spann was born on September 8, 1954 to the late Levy Spann, Jr. and the late Jessie Mae Rollerson Spann in Monck Corner, SC. On January 17, 2013, at her home, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, answered the Master's call and went home peacefully to be with the Lord.

At an early age, Ruth joined Emmanuel R.E. Church where she served faithfully. She was a member of the Gospel Choir and the Usher Board. She served as the Finance Secretary, the Delegate to the Quarterly Conference and Delegate to the church Synod.

Ruth attended the public schools in Berkeley County and was a proud 1972 graduate of Cross High School in Cross, SC, whom she loved dearly.

Ruth love for people allowed her to work diligently at Magnolia Nursing Home, Taco Bell, Capital Imagining and Wal-Mart for over ten plus years. Ruth had a larger than life personality and most importantly she loved her family and friends. She was well known for her out spoken-ness, her smile, the way she greeted people and her crazy jokes.

Ruth had two sisters who preceded her in death-Annie Mae Rollerson and Minnie Pearl Spann-Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted children-Minister Jessie (Lillie) Spann, and Veronica Spann of the home, and Angela Spann-Matthews; a devoted sister, Annie Bell Spann; brothers, Paul (Betty0 Rollerson, Levy (Carolyn) Spann, Jr., and Keith (Mona Lisa) Spann, Sr.; brother-in-law, Clarence, Johnson, Sr.; grandchildren, Kevin Spann, D'Qwan and Destinee Stephens, Deiveon Heyward, Kadesia and Khneisha Spann, KeShaun Douglas, Tyesha and Dashia Spann, April and Kiary Wilson; three great grandchildren, Eriel Sabb, Shaniya Harmon and Ronnie Harmon, Jr., Terrell Ellington; a special sister, Carol Williams; Godchildren, Keyasia Pride, Natasha Dailey, Antonio Bennett, Candance Holcombe and Monique Spann; speicla friends, Steven Marion, Anna Mae Rollerson, Jannie Lee Rollerson, Belinda Cooper and Belinda (Nell) Bennett; one adopted daughter, Debbie Prioleau; Caregivers, Odyssey Hospices and Shirley Mae Smith and a host of other family and friends.
