Ruth Simon, better known as Babier was born on June 4, 1940 in Orangeburg County.  She was the daughter of the late Herbert Simon and the late Annie Rell Walker Simon.

On Thursday, October 27, 2022 she gained her wings of life at the Fred Mullins Burn Unit in Augusta, Georgia.

Ruth grew up in Bowman and was educated in the Bowman Public School System.  She loved having family gatherings in her yard.  She was loved by many.

One son, three sisters, one brother, and one son-in-law preceded her in death.

She leaves behind four loving children, LeGrand (Mae) Simon of Bowman, SC, Judy S. Boyd of St. George, SC, Julius (Regina) Simon of Bowman, SC and Venzaree (Veron) Simon of Charleston, SC; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; one sister, Cherry Bell Simon of Bowman, SC; special nieces and friends, Shelia Simon (riding partner), Annie Ruth Cato, Ida Simon, Mary Kitt Thompson, Cherry Pelzer, Denise Harrison, Marilyn Seals, Christine Hodges, Voila Cobbs, Mary Elmore, Geneva Pendergrass, Loretta Neals, Cassandra Middleton, Leonard Yates and Russell Simon; a host of other relatives and friends.
