Mrs. Rose M. Cobbs Smoak was born on January 15, 1939 to the late Mr. Paul Cobbs, Sr. and Mrs. Wilhelmina Cobbs. She departed this life on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

She grew up in St. George, South Carolina and attended the public schools of Dorchester County. She was a 1957 graduate of Williams Memorial High School. At an early age she joined Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member until she relocated to Brooklyn, New York. She worked faithfully with Kings County Hospital for over 30 years as a data entry operator until her retirement. Upon retiring, she
relocated to Columbia, South Carolina.

She leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted and loving son, Mr. Mitchell P. (April) Cobbs of Columbia, SC; two granddaughters, Ms. Tamara M. Cobbs of Washington, DC and Ms. Hope L. Cobbs of Columbia, SC; four great-grandsons, Prim, Jr., Demetri, Damien and
Delonte Shepard of Washington, DC; one sister, Mary C. Primus of Columbia, SC; one brother, Paul (Shirley) Cobbs, Jr., and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Cobbs of St. George, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
