Rosa Mae Mack, the daughter of the late Roscoe Mack and Curlyno Summers Mack was born September 14, 1939 in Dorchester County. Rosa met her appointment with God on Wednesday, April 19 th 2023.
Rosa grew up in a Christian home and attended the public schools of Dorchester County. Rosa and the family then later relocated to New York where she finished her education and began working as a medical assistant at John Hopkins Hospital for many years. She later relocated back home to South Carolina in the 1980's and began working at Saint George Health Care Center for many years until her health declined.
Rosa became a faithful and dedicated member of the New Hope AME Church. She served as a member of the Women's Missionary Society for a number of years and later became the President. She obeyed God's call and felt led to enter into the ministry. After the completion of her studies, she was ordained as a Local Elder under Rev. Leroy Middleton.
Rosa was preceded in death by her son, McKinley Tony Mack and daughter, Kim Tawana Mack, sisters, Louise Jones, Ruth Bradley and Bessie Booker.
Rosa leaves behind to cherish her memories, her sister, Elease Vanderhorst (Melvin Vanderhorst) of Summerville, SC, granddaughter, Shonta Westbury of Orangeburg, SC and brother-in-law Jesse Booker of Conyers, GA, and special friend, Alma Addison of Harleyville, SC. She also leaves behind a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
