A Time To Be Born
Rosa Mae Syphrett Lewis began her life journey on November 3, 1933. She was one of six siblings of the late Clarence and Angie Syphrett. Five siblings preceded her in death; Leroy Syphrett, Millie Murray, Mary Syphrett, JC Syphrett, and one that did not survive birth.

A Time To Live
Rosa Mae grew up in Reevesville, SC and attended the public schools of Dorchester County. Sister Rosa Mae joined Mt. Pisagah Baptist Church at an early age, and later joined Bethel # 2 Word Outreach Ministries where she gave her life to the Lord. In 1948, Sister Rosa Mae was joined in holy matrimony to the late Freddie Eugene Lewis. To this union, eleven children were born. Two children preceded her death, Millie Major and Brenda Lewis.

A Time To Mourn
Rosa Mae leaves to sorrowfully mourn and forever cherish her memories: five daughters, Freddie Garvin of Newark, NJ, Margie Lewis and Pastor Rosetta Sanders of Reevesville, SC, Gloria Jean Elmore of Orangeburg, SC and Carolyn Lewis of Parma Heights, OH; four sons, Darrell (Paula) Lewis and David (Marsha) Lewis both of Orangeburg, SC, Jimmy Lewis of Trenton, NJ and Terry (Vivian) Lewis of Pelham, GA; two sons-in-law, Claude Major and Phillip Elmore both of St. George, SC; 24 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; one sister-in-law, Earnestine Lewis of Reevesville, SC; a host of nieces, nephews and friends; sister Stephanie Warren, a very loving, dependable caregiver and friend of the family.
