Mother Rola Mae Green began her life journey on December 19, 1918. She was one of 11 siblings of the late Queenie and Isaac Lewis. She was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg and Dorchester counties. Mother Green was united in marriage to the late Bishop Lun Green for 61 years. To this union God gave four beautiful children, one of which, the only son, Lun Clay Green predeceased her in death.

Mother Green was a woman of dignity, intregity, loyalty, discernment and discretion. She was a mother to her community, her church and her home. Those that knew her admired her for her smile, her meekness, her caring nature and her love.

At the age of 19, Mother Green gave her life to Christ, became a faithful member of Bethel #1 Holiness Church where she serve in numerous capacities including First Lady and Mother of the church and the District.

Her life was and will always be a testimony of a woman that loved God, loved her family, loved the church and loved people. No one was a stranger. The doors to her home hung, as the older folks would say, on welcome hinges. She encountered people from Africa to Barbados and all in between. She will be missed, oh yes, but missing her will not bring sorrow but joy, peace and happiness.

Mother Green was an obedient and humble servant that purposefully followed God's plan for her life. Her contributions,, her thoughtfulness and her generosity will always be remembered and appreciated by those who kew her.

She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Fannie Cokley of Reevesville, SC, Mrs. Patricia Duggins of Summerville, SC and Ms. Joyce Green of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one brother, Mr. Adell Lewis of Reevesville, SC: five sisters-in-law, Mrs. Francis Mason of Branchville, SC, Mrs. Ernestine Lewis of Reevesville, SC, Mrs. Helen Lewis of Ruffin, SC, Mrs. Rosa Mae Lewis of St. George, SC and Ms. Onell Green of Reevesville, SC; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and Mrs. Fannie Coburn, a very loyal, dependable caretaker and friend of the family.
