Rodney Gelzer, Jr. died unexpectedly in Ridgeville, South Carolina on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the age of 36.

Rodney Gelzer, Jr. was born on April 24, 1982 in Charleston, South Carolina to Ms. Lisa Mae Gelzer and Mr. Rodney Spell, Sr.

Rodney realized at an early that God would be the center of his life.  He became a baptized member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church.   He served as a youth choir member and later joined the male chorus, where he served diligently.  Rodney favorite scripture was Ecclesiastes 12:1-8.

Rodney was educated in Dorchester School District Four.  After graduating from high school he attended UTI NASCAR School for Mechanics.  He had a passion and love for working on cars and making people laugh.  He later began his venture into driving truck.  He was currently employed by Advintage Distribution.

Rodney Gelzer, Jr. is survived by his parents, Ms. Lisa Mae Gelzer of Harleyville, SC and Mr. Rodney Spell, Sr. of Ridgeville, SC; one brother, Taurus Lee Gelzer of Harleyville, SC; a very devoted friend, Ms. Markelia S. Norris; nine uncles, five aunts; four cousins of which they were inseparable, Terrence  Gelzer, Dwayne Lamar Bannister, Dontori E. Spell and Torrence L. Spell; five others who were very dear to his heart, Kalandis Geddis, Derrick Washington, Hakeem Carmichael, Jylan and Jakeva Jenkins; a host of cousins, friends and family.
