Robert Ravenell, Jr. was born in St. George, SC on January 27, 1968.  He was the third of five children born to Robert S. and Mamie Sue Simmons Ravenell.  He departed this life on March 30, 2022 at Trident Medical Center following a brief illness.

Robert was educated in the public schools of Upper Dorchester County.  At an early age he joined Bethel AME Church where he attended with his family.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel E. Ravenell; grandparents, Jessie Mae and Malcolm Ravenell; Freddie L. Cobbs and Rev. Eugene Simmons; Clifton and Dorothy Durant all of whom were important in his up bringing.

Robert was a beloved member of the St. George Community where he was loved by family, friends, employers and neighbors.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Mamie and Robert Ravenell of St. George, SC; three sisters, Freddie Mae (Stephen) Mason of Orangeburg, SC, Veronica Hardy of Columbia, SC and Cenetta D. Ravenell of the home; seven nephews, Quentin, David, Zachary, Eric, Shyhiem, Rashay and Kelvin Jamal; four great nieces and nephews; one maternal aunt, Betty R. Holmes; three paternal aunts, Ethel (Sonny) Judge, Carletta (Wesley) Wren and Annette (William) Fontaine; paternal uncle, Clifton (Carrie) Durant; one great uncle, Ceasar (Rose) Cobb; Tamyia Felder, who he loved like a daughter; a host of other relatives and friends.
