Ricky Leroy Brown entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Colleton Regional Hospital. He was born August 23, 1961 in Dorchester County to the late Leroy William Brown and Elease Vanderhorst.

Ricky attended the Public Schools of Dorchester County. He was employed by the South Carolina Highway Department in St. George, SC after many years of service; he became employed by Carolina Trade Zone in Huger, SC until his health declined in December 1998.

Ricky was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Summerville, SC.

Ricky leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted mother, Elease Vanderhorst and stepfather, Melvin Vanderhorst; two daughters, Shayna Moore of Summerville, SC and Dana Powell of Buffalo, NY; three grandchildren, Ishamel Brown of Charleston, SC, Alanah Powell of Buffalo, NY and London Elesia Williams (who preceded him in death); two sisters, Rosalind Brown of Summerville, SC and Niecy Vanderhorst of Georgetown, SC; four brothers, Eric Brown of Summerville, SC, Gabe Vanderhorst of Georgetown, SC, Kevin Brothers of Lithonia, GA and Kevin Vanderhorst of Georgetown, SC; two aunts, Daisy Coats of Harleyville, SC and Rev. Rosa Mack of St. George, SC; two uncles, Allen Bradley of St. George, SC and Jessie Booker of Conyers, GA; a dear friend Paula Powell of Buffalo, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
