Rickey Simmons was born in Dorchester County on Monday, September 2, 1968, to the late Nathaniel and Clarine Jennings Simmons. He peacefully entered Heaven's gates on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, as God sent His angels to receive his caring soul.

Rickey attended Dorchester County School District Four, where he graduated from St. George High School in 1988. During his school years, he was an outstanding athlete and played football.

Known as a "cool guy" throughout his life, Rickey was admired for his smooth dance moves and his love of singing—often in private. An interesting fact about Rickey was his unique vocabulary, complete with expressions all his own. He also had a true passion and flair for fashion.

In 1993, Rickey was joined in holy matrimony to Aldenise Govan. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, and grandfather.

Rickey began his working career with Smith Trucking Company, where he remained employed until his health declined.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Aldenise Simmons; sons, Quadrey Simmons and Ive'Ontae Livingston (stepson); grandchildren, Skylar and Sensai Simmons, and Londyn, Kairo, Reign, and Moriah Livingston; siblings, Richard, Rosetter, and Marina Simmons; father-in-law, Curlee Govan; sister-in-law, Angela Wright; a special mother/aunt, Brenda Jennings; along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
