Rickey Anthony Harris the son of the late Ralph and Margaret H. Gaddist was born September 29, 1961 in Dorchester County. He entered into eternal rest on February 16, 2020 at the Ralph H. Johnson Medical Center.
Rickey joined St. Mark Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. General Britt.
Rickey was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County and was a 1979 graduate of Harleyville-Ridgeville High School.
Rickey received his Auto Body Repair Certification from Nashville Auto Diesel College in Nashville, Tennessee.
Rickey enlisted in the United States Army in 1983 and was honorably discharged in 1986. He began working on many jobs; he was employed at Leiber Correctional Center, Macalloy Steel, Cummins Turbo/Williams Technology and Force Protection.
In 1979 he met the love of his life the former Brenda Martino and was married in January 1982. This union was blessed with two children, Rodriques Antonio Harris and Trey Anthony Harris.
Rickey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Aticus and Bessie Harris.
Rickey leaves a devoted wife of 38 years Brenda M. Harris; two sons, Rodriques A. Harris of Petersburg, VA and Trey A. Harris of Columbia, SC; four grandchildren, Tyler J., Jada T., Maija and Master Kaleb Anthony Harris; two sisters, Lennie G. (Ruben) Doctor of Ridgeville, SC and Deanna (Dee) Jones of Goose Creek, SC; two brothers, Norman (Christine) Gaddist of Givehans, SC and Troy J. Gaddist of Summerville, SC; five uncles, Arthur J. Harris, Ezekial Kitt, Robert (Carol) Gaddist, Samuel T. (Earnestine) Gaddist and Joseph White;one great aunt, Josie Lee Steward; one great uncle, Julius Boyd; three sisters-in-law, Terrell Martino, Delores (John) Mitchell and Joann Martino; five brothers-in-law, Terrance (Ann) Martino, Donald (Sharon) Martino, Troy Martino, Ronald Martino and Tony Martino; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
