Richard Allen Primus was born January 27, 1944 to the late Nehemiah and Lucille Baxter Primus in Dorchester County, South Carolina. He entered eternal rest on February 17, 2025.
Richard attended the Public Schools of Dorchester County. He left school to help his parents on the farm. He later moved to New York City to begin a career in construction. He retired from the construction profession. After retiring Richard returned to his hometown of St. George, South Carolina where he started his hobby of farming.
Richard was united in holy matrimony to Debra Inabinett Primus.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Inabinett Primus; his sister, Nellie (Morris) Lawrence; his brothers, Willie, Jr. (Louise) Primus, David (Ruby) Primus and Nathaniel Primus.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving children, Terence (Jennifer) Primus, Kesha Primus, Andre Primus, Ricky Haggwood and Eben Primus; siblings, Mary (Clarence) Simmons, Brenda (Frank) Mack, Jocille Mitchell, Heyward (Isabell) Primus, Howard (Mary) Primus, Tenna Primus and Catherine (Harry) Williams; one sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law; eight grandchildren: Terence, Jamal, Kourtney, KaDarius, Asha, Breanna, Danielle, and Brielle; two great grandchildren, Ava and Esther; special nephew, Franklin D. Mack; his friend, Curtis Way; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
