It was on October 23, 1945, in Marion, South Carolina that the Lord blessed the union of London and Maggie Crawford Moses with a bouncing baby boy who was named Frank Madison Moses. However, on April 8, 2025, he quietly answered the call to life eternal to be with God at the Edisto Post-Acute Care Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Being reared in a Christian home, Frank was taught how to pray and trust God in everything. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church in Marion, South Carolina. He was educated in the public schools of Marion County where he was known for his basketball skills. Frank furthered his education by attending Allen University and Dickerson Theological Seminary both in Columbia, South Carolina.

He received and accepted the call on his life to preach the gospel. At 18 years old, he was licensed to preach by the Reverend A. J. Jenkins at his home church, St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church in Marion, South Carolina. From that point, he preached with commitment, fervor and passion. He gladly served at the call of the Presiding Bishop wherever he was assigned. For 61 years, Reverend Moses flourished in the gardens where he was planted. He was often referred to as a lean preaching machine. I have heard it said and I quote, "Reverend Moses could preach the horns off a billy goat." However, if you didn't follow closely as he expounded the gospel; you would miss it because within 12 minutes, he was done! Lord, the afterglow was astounding! God blessed his ministry to the point that he served in five of the six annual conferences (Piedmont, Columbia, South Carolina, Palmetto and Northeast) with distinction! He held a special place in his heart for children and seniors. He was beloved by many.

Reverend Moses was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. London arid Mrs. Maggie Moses; his brothers, Grant Moses, Phillip Moses, and Theodore Moses and two sons, Carey Anthony Moses, Sr. and Michael Vernon Moses, Sr.

Reverend Moses and his wife shared a beautiful spiritual relationship, they were Commissioner and Associate Commissioner of the South Carolina Conference Christian Debutante Commission.

He leaves to cherish his many memories: his loving wife of 28 years, Gladys G. Moses of the home; his bonus sons, Savarlus R. (Takea) Gardner of St. George, SC; Dearrin (Kewanda) Gardner of Columbia, SC; Two grandsons he reared as his own; Carey Anthony Moses, Jr., of Columbia, SC and Michael V. Moses, Jr. of Dillon, SC. His other grandchildren, Joey Drayton of Florence, SC; Jahwon Reaves of Marion, SC, Mercedez Hope of Marion, SC; Tyliq Moses, Kenyon Moses and Asia Barnes of Baltimore, MD; Latisha Brown of Clarksville, TN; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Brenda Moses of Florence, SC; a special nephew, Deacon Gregory Broderick, nieces and nephews as well as many cousins and friends.
