Obituary

Eddie Clay Berry Jr. was born on September 4, 1968 in Roseville, South Carolina to the late Eddie Clay Berry and Lillie Mae Mack-Berry.  He entered eternal rest on March 19, 2023 at the age of 54 in Orangeburg, SC.

Eddie was a 1986 graduate of Bowman High School.  In 1989 he graduated from Denmark Technical College with an Associate Degree in Building Construction Technology.  Eddie was a master brick mason and an entrepreneur in the trade.  He was great at what he did and was proud of his work. Eddie became a correction officer and worked for Lieber Correctional Institution and Kirkland Correctional Institution, where he taught Brick Masonry.  Eddie later became employed by the Colleton County School District at Thunderbolt Career and Technology Center as a Brick Mason Instructor until his passing.  Eddie loved the students at TCTC and often talked about them.  He along with his wife became foster parents through the Bair Foundation.

Many lives were touched by his kindness and he will be remembered for putting his family first. Eddie had a very pleasant spirit and he got along with everybody.  He had the ability to make you laugh and his smile would light up any room. He would often be called upon to help others and would not hesitate to assist them. He loved his family and loved to travel with them.  Eddie was an awesome husband, father, son, brother, cousin, nephew, friend, co-worker, neighbor, classmate……  He will be missed by many.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Clay Berry Sr. and son, Johnathan Berry.
