Reudy Franklin Wright transitioned from physical existence onto glory at Mount Carmel St Ann's Hospital in Westerville, Ohio on Monday November 17, 2025 at 1:33 pm.
Reudy was the fourth child born on June 22,1978, at St. Francis Hospital in downtown Charleston to Cynthia McCray Wright and the late Pastor Reuben Wright Sr. He was a devoted and loving father to his beautiful daughter, Telia Whitne Samon Grant, and a proud grandfather to his two precious granddaughters, Mylei Milani and Lauryn Chanel.
Reudy attended, Memminger Elementary, Courtney Middle & Summerville High School where he created some of his fondest memories & closest bonds with his childhood friends. Many of which can attest to their genuinely deep connections & numerous adventures. Reudy was an outgoing, funny, and uplifting soul who had a gift for making everyone around him smile. His laugh and vibrant energy were truly contagious — the kind of presence that instantly brightened any room. Some of his happiest moments were spent watching movies and enjoying simple, meaningful time with family. He always brought joy, comfort, and laughter to everyone he loved. He had a memory like an elephant and could really tell a story. He was an exceptionally talented & had a natural gift & anointing to play the drums, starting at the age of 4. He also played the piano & keyboard by ear. He loved to dress & had a pair of sneakers to match every outfit. He was quite an accomplished traveling electrician and an active member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Reudy was preceded in death by his father Reuben Wright Sr. and paternal grandparents Abraham Wright and Viola Murray Wright as well as his maternal grandparents Franklin Gibbs McCray and Rhonda Olease Boone McCray.
Reudy leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother Cynthia McCray Wright; his only daughter Telia Grant , his two granddaughters Mylei and Lauryn; siblings Reuben D. Wright Jr. (Betty), Sean Smith, Robin D. Wright, Raphael Omar Wright Sr. (Quiana), Rachele Wright Ladson ( Eric), Rhonda Wright Pasoquen (Andrew), Rhondel O. Wade (Virgil), Regina Wright Parker (Brick), his 15 nieces, 11 nephews including grands; a host of cousins, other family, and friends of many he met during his lifetime.
