Reginald Vernon Cusack, a son of Kingmon Cusack and Eula Mae DeLee Cusack was born on March 19, 1956. He departed this life on Monday, November 29 at MUSC Hospital, Charleston, SC.

Reginald graduated from Harleyville-Ridgeville High School in 1974 and from Trident Technical College in 1976.

He was united in holy matrimony with Rose Marie Spell on April 10, 1982. To this union, two daughters were born, Ashli Sierra and Amber Simone.

In 1978, after a brief period of work at Westvaco in Charleston, SC, he was hired as a welder at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, where he worked for 17 years.

Throughout his life, he has always strived for excellence; working tirelessly to complete every task. As a teenager, his dream was to own and operate his own business. A few years after high school, with the encouragement of his parents, his dream was realized.

In 1987, Reginald and his father, Kingmon Cusack opened Cusack's Auto Sales and Parts. He and his father had a love for cars and trucks.

Additionally in 1988, he opened Cusack's Towing with franchises in Dorchester and Holly Hill, SC. In 2000, he added Cusack's Trucking. His work is exemplified by his awards and achievements in the trucking and towing businesses. He is founder, owner, and operator of the largest minority towing company on the east coast.

One of his greatest career highlights was in January, 2005 when he was asked by the Honorable Gilda Cobb-Hunter to be one of the speakers at the Black Caucus Banquet at Orangeburg Technical College, to share with students how he got started in business. He inspired them to reach for their dreams and to never give up.

On June 25, 2015, after many years of planning and God's favor, he opened King's One Stop, LLC, in

honor of his parents. For Reginald, this was a dream come true, a goal realized, and a promise kept.

Reginald was an extraordinary businessman/entrepreneur whose philosophy was to treat all with dignity and respect. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" … as God commands.

Reginald was the first person to join the New Morris Chapel as a member. He served as Church Treasurer and Trustee. He loved his Church and Community, always trying to make life better for those in need.

Each day from sunrise to sunset, he was at his best when he was providing help and services to others.

Reginald represented a generation of leaders whose goal was to make his community a better place to live, to work, to visit and to worship. In 2016, he was awarded the NAACP Community Service Image Award.

He was affiliated with the Dorchester Transportation Committee, the Coastal Community Foundation of SC, the Masons, the Better Business Bureau, the Dorchester Boat Club and the Chamber of Commerce.

His parents, Kingmon and Eula Mae DeLee Cusack, his brother Rufus and his sister Patricia preceded him in death.

Reginald's memories will always be cherished by his loving wife, Rose Marie; his daughters, Ashli Sierra

(Mark) Ferguson of Dorchester, SC, and Amber Simone Cusack of the home; one granddaughter, Serenity Cusack of Dorchester, SC; two grandsons, Tristian Cusack of the home and Leon Cusack Ferguson of Dorchester, SC; eight siblings, Willie Joe Cusack of Dorchester, SC, Betty Singletary of Sumter, SC, Ollie Smith, Gerona Anderson, Luhaze (Arlethia) Cusack, and Jacqueline Simons all of Dorchester, SC, Claretha (Michael) Riley of Fayetteville, NC, and Carol Cusack of Lithonia, Georgia; sister- in-law, Gloria Cusack of Dorchester, SC; his only and very special aunt, Willie Lee Cusack of Dorchester, SC; one uncle, Richard Cusack of Dorchester, SC; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Moultrie and Amanda D. Spell of Ridgeville, SC, and Verneatha (Mathew Larry) Profit of Summerville, SC; brothers-in-law, Douglas (Kathleen) Spell of Fayetteville, NC, and  Keith (Melanie) Spell of Ridgeville, SC; a host of devoted family members that include nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
