Ms. Rachel Lee James was born August 1, 1942 to the late Cohen James and Ida Mae Gregory James in Harleyville, SC. Ms. James entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, SC. She was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County.

At an early age she joined Elem Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health began to fail.

Rachel was employed by Southern Tank Transport in Holly Hill, SC for more than 20 years.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Emily Alisa James; Virginia James Moultrie and one brother, Izell James.

Surely God has given the soul of Sister Rachel Lee James eternal rest. She will be missed by those who loved her.

She leaves to cherish her many precious memories, her loving and devoted son, Samuel Junior James; a devoted daughter, Nikki James; Mr. Shawn Mims that she helped rear as her own son, all of South Carolina; a devoted friend of the family, and a child that she helped rear (affectionately she called Sugar) as her own grandson, Brysun Josiah Lemon; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
