Pearline M. Glass, "Pinky" as she was affectionately known, was the last of eight children born to Pearlie and Luther Brown on September 20, 1933, in Reevesville, SC. She attended secondary schools in St. George, SC, and graduated from Williams Memorial High School. She then went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Benedict College. After college, she met Albert Herman Glass of Atlanta, GA, and they were married on Dec. 23, 1961. Two children were born of this union, Lonyard Quinton Glass and Aurelius Loren Glass.

Pearline held numerous jobs. She taught at North High School in North, SC for many years and worked as a daycare director at the Dept. of Social Services for 17 years before retiring in Charleston, SC. After retiring, she worked at First African Evangelical Christian Church Day Care.

She was a member of Union Baptist Church in North Charleston, SC, for a number of years before becoming a member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully on the Senior Choir, in the Ladies Auxiliary, as a Senior Missionary, and in Adult Sunday School. She was very dedicated to her fellowship with the church.

She was past Worthy Matron of Queen Esther Chapter #166, Order of Eastern Star where she joined in 1994. Many enduring friendships formed throughout her years of membership.

She was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially her favorite teams, the Atlanta Braves and Oakland Raiders. Her hobbies also included baking and she was known for her famous "mouthwatering" pound cakes and chewies which she made for family & friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Pearline was preceded in death by her siblings: Marion Brown, Bertie Fredrick, Fannie Dixon, Esther Dash, John K. Brown, Leroy Brown; and best friend/sister Rose President.

She is survived by her sons, Lonyard and Aurelius Glass; grandsons Marquelle, Rontary, and Tyree Glass; her brother Ordie C. Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends left to cherish her loving memory.
