On Sunday January 22, 2023 an angel was dispatched from heaven his mission was to whisper a soft call to one Pearlie Smalls.  She answered the call and quickly followed Him.

Mrs. Pearlie Mae Smalls stepped on the Glory Train bound for heaven Sunday afternoon around 1:57 pm.  At the Summerville Medical Center, Summerville, Sc after an extended illness.

Mrs. Smalls was born December 26, 1938 in Dorchester County. The daughter of the late Rosa Lee Wright Anderson and the late Pelow Anderson.  She was joined in holy matrimony to the late James Smalls.  To this union four children were born.  One child preceded her in death.

At an early age she joined St. Daniel United Methodist Church.  She served faithfully on Mass Choir, and United Methodist Women until her health failed.  She attended the public schools of Dorchester County.

Four brothers, preceded her in death, Thomas, Albert, Jessie and Herbert Lee.

She leaves to cherish her sweet memories two daughters, Gloria Smalls and Vanessa Smalls and one son, Jeffery Smalls all of Harleyville, SC; two granddaughters, Cecelia Smalls and Malia Zeigler; one brother, Samuel Anderson of Charleston, SC; one sister, Margie Johnson of Harleyville, SC; four sisters-in-law,  Nora Anderson, Luellen Smalls, Vernell Smalls and Charlotte Smalls; three brothers-in-law, Matthew Smalls, Johnnie Smalls and Thomas Smalls; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
