Obituary

Patricia Ann Utsey Brothers was born on March 11, 1954 to Vernon & Larlie Bee Singletary-Utsey. She was the third child out of eight children. Patricia was called home to join other loved ones. She entered into eternal rest on January 8, 2015.

As a child, Patricia loved going to church and at the age of seven she became a part of a Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York, where she fellowship for many years. She was educated in the public schools of Brooklyn, New York and Dorchester County, South Carolina. Later, she moved to St. George where she then began attending Jerusalem Baptist Church. She was married for sixteen years to Mr. Truman Brothers until his passing in 1991. Her hobbies were watching tv, fishing, baby sitting, attending the World's Famous Grits Festival, but most of all she loved cooking.

Patricia loved to be on the go. She would get all dressed up and would say: "How you like me now?" When it was time to hit the road she would say, "Let's ride". One of her most famous sayings would be: "I'm Patricia and you're not!" She loved her family dearly and we can all remember Patricia by her sassiness, she will be missed. Although she is no longer here, she has left many memories.

Four brothers preceded her in death: Bobby Utsey, Greg Utsey, Derrick Utsey and Dewitt Utsey.

Patricia leaves to cherish her fond memories two brothers, Douglas Utsey and Donte' Gettes both of Brooklyn, NY; one sister, Zukeia Ghetts of Brooklyn, NY; three aunts, Ida Britt of St. George, SC, Doris Macmillion of Warminster, PA and Lorine McMillan of Philadelphia, PA; a nephew, Morris (Keisha) Walker of Bronx, NY; In laws, Luellen Major and Gertrude Jenkins both of Reevesville, SC, Ruth Watson of Brooklyn, NY, and James Brothers of Little Elm, Texas, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
