Obituary

Sister Ozella Julia Berry Bryant affectionately known as "Bell" was born October 13, 1930 to the late Artis Berry and Rachel Butler Berry in Dorchester County, South Carolina. She was summoned by God's Heavenly Angels late Sunday, April 30, 2017 at her home.

Husband, Fred Nelson Bryant preceded her in death October 15, 2005; six siblings also preceded her in death: Virginia Gardner, Richard Berry, Hezekiah Berry, Nathaniel Berry, Joseph Berry and Grace Berry.

Ozella received her education in the St. Paul Community Elementary School and Williams Memorial School in St. George, SC

At an early age, Ozella started her Christian journey and joined St. Paul AME Church in Harleyville, SC and remained a faithful and dedicated member. She served as past Missionary President, past president of the pulpit aid board, Sunday school teacher, a member of the Stewardess Board, worked with the youth choir, a member of the Trustee Board and class leader for class #5 until her health declined.

Ozella worked as a medical transportation driver with TMSI from 1975 and retired in 2005. Her passion was the patients she transported daily.

Ozella was united in holy matrimony with Fred Nelson Bryant on July 22, 1950. To this union five children were born, John W., Thelma, Cynthia, Timothy and Frederick.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: five sons, John W. (Charlotte) Bryant of Woodbridge, VA, Timothy N. Bryant of Pittsburgh, PA, Frederick E. Bryant of Harleyville, SC, Damon L. (Raquel) Bryant of Raleigh, NC and LeAndre of Dorchester, SC; two daughters, Thelma Y. Bryant of Dorchester, SC and Cynthia Y. (Jerome) Lee of Summerville, SC; four sisters, Mary E. Berry, Dorchester, SC, Catherine Berry, Greenwood, SC, Rachel S. Cooper of Gary, IN, and Redella ( John) McCants of Mascoutah, IL; one sister-in-law, Sally Berry of Greenwood, SC ; one brother-in-law, John Bryant of Philadelphia, PA; thirteen grandchildren, Tammey (Alfred) Addison, John Kirk (Allison) Bryant, Rachel Lee, Artis J. Lee, Jason Bryant, Brandon Lee, Joshua L. Bryant, Nylah Bryant, Damon Bryant, Jr., Candance Bryant, Aliyah Bryant, Michaela Bryant, Destiny Bryant; eight great grandchildren, Alexandria Addison, Johnathan Addison, Empress Fogel, Kahlen Lee, Miles Bryant, Vera Jade Bryant, Zalayhia Bryant and Bella Scott. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
