Ophelene Nance Jones entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 8, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Calvin Nance and Sicfronia Deanes Nance. Ophelene was born August 9, 1929 in West Point, Mississippi and resided there until her health began to decline.

Ophelene earned her Bachelor's Degree at Holly Springs College and her Master's Degree at Mississippi State University. She was an elementary school teacher for the West Point Public School District and Noxubee County School District. She was an educator for more than forty years.

A member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, Ophelene will be remembered as an active member and a caring Sunday school teacher.

Ophelene was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Jones, one sister, Lucy Nance Allen and one brother, Lilton Nance.

Ophelene leaves to cherish her loving memories, her sister, Carolyn Nance Harrison of Dorchester, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
