Sweet potato pies, candied yams, chocolate layer cake, pound cake, rutabagas, fruit cake and corn bread-if you wanted it, Mrs. Ollie M. Bingley could and would Cook or Bake it!

Two things about her; she gave freely and wore her hats stylishly and with a smile. She loved her hats; they had to be tilted or "cocked" precisely at the right angle.

Ollie M. Britt was born March 15, 1932, to the late Isadore Britt and Lottie Stewart. This union of marriage was blessed with six children: Rosa Lee, Johnnie, Roy, Lelia, Ollie, and Corrine. Four of the siblings preceded her in death: Rosa Lee, Johnnie, Roy, and Lelia.

After the death of Lottie, Isadore remarried and was blessed with four beautiful siblings for his other children: Willa, Lottie, Leroy, and Charity.

On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, God called Ollie to her home of eternal rest.

She was formerly married to James Utsey; they were blessed with five children: Ernese, Joanne, Rozetta, Bernard, and Clyde.

Many years after the death of James, Ollie was joined in marriage to Wilman Bingley. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2018.

Ollie joined and was baptized at St. Mark Baptist Church, Texas Community at an early age. She served faithfully, singing with the choir and participating in other organizations.

She later joined Good Hope Baptist Church with her husband, Deacon Wilman Bingley. She was active, singing with the choir, working with the Missionary Society, being a Pastor's Aid member, and ministering with the Minister Wives and Deaconess Ministry. She was very generous in giving to the Church; financially or through baking or cooking as requested.

Ollie was a woman with a fabulous sense of humor. She loved laughing and making her family laugh. She enjoyed gardening and baking. Most of all, she loved God, church, family, friends and life.

Her eldest child, Ernese, preceded her in death on January 20, 2020.

Ollie leaves to cherish fond memories; her children Joanne (Samuel), Rosie, Bernard, and Clyde; siblings: Corrine, Charity, Leroy, Willa and Lottie; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, many relatives, friends and church family members.
