Mr. Odom Smith, Sr. son of the late Lawrence Smith, Sr. and Wilahmenia Williams Smith was born April 30, 1936. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday evening, September 26, 2012 at his home.

At an early age he joined Jerusalem Baptist Church in Grover, South Carolina. He was educated in the Public Schools of St. George, South Carolina. He was united in marriage to the late Abbie Lee Gadson Smith. To this union eight children were born. One child preceded him in death, Barbara.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, his loving daughters, Vandora, Marilyn (Dennis),and Jeanette all of St. George, SC and Katherine (John) of Dorchester, SC; his sons, Odom, Jr. of Harleyville, SC, Richard (LaDeidre) of St. George, SC and Howard (Catherine) of Ebert, Colorado; two sisters, Helen (Andrew) Carn and Nancy (Johnny Lee) Summers both of Daytona Beach, FL; one brother, Johnny (Diane) Smith of Daytona Beach, FL; two sisters-in-law, Albertha Heyward of St. George, SC and Doris Gadson of Miami, FL; 17 grand children; 7 great grand children; his caring neighbor, Corine Gadson ; devoted cousin, Hie (Miriam) Smith of Lincoln, NE and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
