Obituary

Oddies Gardner, better known as "odie Boy" was born May 9, 1963 in Dorchester, South Carolina to the late James and Joyce (Inabinett) Gardner. After a long illness, Oddies departed this life on January 28, 2011 at his home.

Oddies graduated from Harleyville-Ridgeville High School in 1981. He was a great basketball player. He furthered his education at Denmark Technical College where he studied Barbering. Oddies worked at Green Acres and Strobel Tires for years.

Oddies became a member of St. Paul AME Church at an early age. He was a spiritual individual and a true believer in God. He served on the Trustee Board.

Oddies was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Inabinett and Melvin Gardner.

Oddies leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: two sisters, Mickey G. (Harry) Brown of Ridgeville, SC and Nessa Gardner of Harleyville, SC; four brothers, James N. Gardner, Jr., Kenneth C. (Melissa) Gardner and Raymondus Hill all of Harleyville, SC and Ricky (Grace) Gardner of Eutawville, SC; five aunts, Loretta Simmons, Lillie Johnson, Molly Gardner-Simmons, Polly Gardner, Daisy Stephens and Edith Berry; three uncles, George T. Inabinett, Orlando Inabinett and Arthur Gardner, Jr.; A special friend, Cynthia Greenhow; close friends, Gilbert Mack, Anthony Murray and James Simmons and a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins and friends.
