Nathaniel "Tot" Britt was called home to God on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 11:33 a.m. He was born July 17, 1936 in St. George, SC to the late Charlie and Ella Britt. He was educated in the Public Schools of Dorchester County.

At an early age he joined St. Mark Baptist Church and accepted Christ as his personal savior. While in Spring Valley, NY, he affiliated himself with Pilgrim Baptist Church.

He was joined in holy matrimony to Annie Lou Carter on February 9, 1965. This union was blessed with two children.

Nathaniel lived in Spring Valley, NY for many years. He retired from Grand Union where he worked for 34 years. After retiring Nathaniel returned home to St. George, SC.

Nathaniel reinstated his membership with St. Mark Baptist Church in 2006, where he served on the Trustee Board and a member of the Male Choir.

Nathaniel was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Britt and John Lewis and one sister, Aldonia Daniels.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Annie Lou Britt; two daughters, Valerie Britt of Spring Valley, NY and Daphne Britt-Carmin of Burlingham, NY; four sisters, Naomi Simpson, Detroit, MI, Annie B. Goldston of Greensboro, NC, Daisy Brothers of St. George, Sc and Gloria Britt of Flatbush, NY; one brother, Willie Britt of Suffolk, VA; three aunts, Bessie Britt, Lillian Britt and Verna Britt; one sister-in-law, Ethel Britt; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
