This Saturday, September 28, 2013 we pause to pay a special tribute to the home going and memory of Nancy Lee Riley Hopkins. She answered God's call into eternal peace and rest on September 18, 2018 at Eistein Medical Center after an extended illness.
Nancy Lee was born January 5, 1946 in Dorchester County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Frank and Nancy Segar Riley. She was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County.
Nancy was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life for forty-eight years, Harold Hopkins and this union was blessed with four loving and beautiful children.
After marriage, Nancy relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where she retired as Manager of Marriott Marquis of New York. After retirement nine years ago, she returned home to St. George, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Riley, Jr., Louis Riley, and Herman Riley and one sister, Deborah Riley Haynes.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving husband, Harold Hopkins of the home, two devoted daughters, Michelle Hopkins of Brooklyn, NY and Tameca Hopkins of Philadelphia, PA; two dedicated sons, Derrick Hopkins of St. George, SC and Harold Hopkins, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY; one daughter-in-law, Ann M. Hopkins; one son-in-law, Robert King; loving granddaughters, Tiffany, Derricka, Miracle, Sylvia and Lashay; loving grandsons, Stanley, Rodrigo, Dexter, Derrick, Devonte, Shadell, Jeremy, Duran, Sharrod, Gharrod and Unique; great grands, Rhianna, Amare, Giovanni, Ava and Anne; three loving sisters, Daisy (Charlie) Green, Jr., Rosetta (Allen) Cobbs and Louise (Johnnie) Kelly all of St. George, SC; five brothers, James David Riley, Samuel Riley, Clarence Riley, Kelvin Riley all of St. George, SC and Joseph (Josephine) Riley of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters-in-law, Annette McKola, Bronx, NY, Freddie Mae Smith, and Mary Hopkins; one brother-in-law, William Hopkins; three aunts, Gustina Segar, Alma Boyd and Catherine Rolack; three uncles, Jimmy (Bertha) Segar, David (Philippine) Segar and Freddie Lee Moorer and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
