Obituary

She transitioned into her eternal rest on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026, at Novant Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Alice Ruth was born to Marshall and Sarah Frasier on March 19th,1933. She was born and raised in Ritter, South Carolina. She graduated from Walterboro High School in 1953. She furthered her education at Roper Hospital and completed her nursing training in1955. Thank God for allowing her to work at MUSC for 36 years in the nursery as a licensed LPN.

Mother Alice Ruth is known for her dedication to her church, work, and family. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late St. Julian Gladden, Sr. Mother joined Springfield Baptist Church until she was led to Worldwide Deliverance Church in 1979. Mother was a firm believer in punctuality through the late Apostle C.A. Middleton and Apostle Ruth Sanders. For fifty years, Mother Alice served as one of the Mothers of this great church. In 2002, she became an ordained minister by the leading of the Holy Spirit through Apostle Ruth Sanders. From the beginning, God ordained that she would live out his commandments of love and holiness. Her life gives testament to her obedience to Christ.

She was predeceased by her husband, St. Julian Gladden Sr, three brothers, Palmer Frasier (Marie Frasier), Emmanuel Frasier (Lidia Frasier), and Murray Frasier (Kathy Frasier). Her two sisters predeceased her: Ellie Burgess (Taylor Burgess) and Eula Bryant (Vonlehe Bryant). She was also pre-deceased by her five children: Mary Middleton (Herman Middleton), Jerome Gladden (Judy Gladden), Glendell Gladden (Evonne Gladden), Talmas Gladden, and Gerald Gladden. One stepdaughter, Mary Louise Harrell. Two grandchildren predeceased her, Glenn Gladden and Charles Capelton.

The untimely death of Mother Alice Gladden leaves a barren place in the hearts of many family members. She is survived by her three sons, Robert Frasier (Lavern Frasier), St. Julian Gladden (Paula Gladden), Terry Gladden (Jamila Gladden), one stepdaughter, Freda Owens (Albert) Spurlock, and one son-in-law, Herman Middleton, a special brother-in-law, Joe Dawson, special cousin, Rev. William Brown and a host of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. She is also survived by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
