Minnie Lee (Gadson) Heyward, the daughter of the late Johnnie and Chissie Gadson, was born May 12, 1932. On March 18, 2014, God called another angel home.

She attended the public schools of Dorchester County, South Carolina. She later moved to Manhattan, New York to make a living for her family.

On June 30, 1956 she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Sidney Heyward who preceded her in death.

After moving back to St. George, she reinstated her membership with St. Mark Baptist Church.

Minnie Lee was preceded in death by six sisters, Alfair Primus, Mattie Mae Murray, Francis Carson, Pernese Summers, Elouise Cobb, and Maybelle Street and three brothers, Barney Gadson, Leroy Gadson and Eddie Gatson.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two children, Bernard Heyward of Blythewood, SC and one daughter, Nicole Wilson of St. George, SC; three grandchildren, Niya Heyward of Kinston, NC, Kamari Wright of Summerville, SC and Jaylin Heyward of Blythewood, SC; one brother, Arrie (Clementine) Gadson of St. George, SC; one sister-in-law, Corine Gatson of St. George, SC; two devoted nieces, Charlotte Summers and Eval Pride both of St. George, SC; a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
