It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" Berry, who departed this life on January 8, 2026, in Charleston, South Carolina. Born on October 21, 1975, in Charleston, South Carolina, to his beloved mother Pearlie Mae Williams and the late Thomas Berry, Jr., Mike was a cherished member of our community.

Life and Legacy
Mike grew up in the Lowcountry and attended St. George Elementary and St. George Middle School, later graduating from Bowman High School. In high school, he enjoyed playing football and basketball. Known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to family and friends, especially his mother—Mike brought joy and inspiration to all who knew him.

After graduating high school, Mike proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army Reserves. Following his military service, he worked at UPS, Holcim Cement Plant and his last place of employment was Fleetwood Log Company. Mike worked until his health declined.  His warm spirit and dedication left an indelible mark on everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.

Mike also enjoyed sharing laughter and creating cherished memories with his family during gatherings, where his love for good food and togetherness shined brightly. His passion for cooking extended beyond the kitchen, as he found joy in gathering loved ones around the table, savoring simple moments and making everyone feel welcome. These heartfelt traditions will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to share them with him.

Family and Loved Ones
Mike is survived by his loving mother, Pearlie Mae Williams, and his devoted son Tyvon Michael Berry, whom he cherished deeply. He was a Father figure to Keshaunda Robinson and DeQuan Green, children whom he helped to raise. He leaves his memories to share with his siblings—Thomas C. Berry, William T. Berry, Jerry L. Berry, Elizabeth Wilson (Nathaniel A. Wilson), and Gregory Berry (Williette Waring Berry); and a host of nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his extended family and countless friends. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Berry, Jr. whose guidance and love shaped much of the man Mike became. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close.

Mike was devoted to his family, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. He was especially close to his son and his mother, Pearlie Mae Williams, whom he cared for deeply and supported throughout his life. His laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love created a strong foundation for his family, and his guidance will be remembered for generations.

Throughout his life, Mike's unwavering support and care for his family were evident in every action. He was a pillar of strength to those around him, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. His presence will be greatly missed but his spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all who loved him.
