Obituary

Michael Anthony Jordan II, affectionately known as "Little Mike" and "MJ" was born May 19, 1992, in Torrance, California to Michael and Ordrine Jordan.  He departed this life on January 16, 2022.

At a young age, Michael moved with his parents to St. George, South Carolina where he was educated in the Dorchester County School System, graduating from Woodland High School in 2010.  Michael continued his education at the University of South Carolina, Salkehatchie, and Trident Technical College before deciding on his true passion – Barbering. He then moved to New York to attend the American Barber Institute, and after months of training received his barbering certificate. Although adventurous, he wanted to return home to continue his career.

Michael continued on the path to fulfilling his passion by becoming a barber's apprentice at Barbers, Inc. in Charleston, South Carolina, where he met his "barber family" and competed to become the best version of himself doing what he loved. He didn't mind doing house-calls; cutting hair in hospitals, convalescent homes, and in neighboring communities, because he knew he was "building his brand."

Michael enjoyed playing basketball and was a die-hard Los Angeles Lakers fan, win or lose. He also loved the "red & black" of the Chicago Bulls, if only because of his shared name with #23 Michael Jordan, which often brought about laughs and jokes.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother Corine Brown, great-grandparents Julius and Luvenia Williams, aunt Vera Jordan, uncles Elliot Jordan and Stephen Cumberbatch, cousins Alfred and Christopher Cumberbatch, best friend/brother Harold "PJ" Jennings, Jr., and fur buddies Snowball and Shotta.

Michael, all the memories and your smile will be forever cherished by your parents, Michael and Ordrine Jordan; brother Zachary "Zach" Brown; grandparents Alfred and Deloris Jordan; grandfather Ordie Brown; uncles Benjamin Brown, Derrick Jordan, Michael Cooper; aunts Adrianne Cumberbatch, Antoinette Jordan, Veronica Cooper; cousins Saquan "Saykey" Jordan, Courtney (Elijah) Jordan-Simpson, Julius Jordan, Joshua Briscoe, Stephen (Amanda) Cumberbatch, Eric (Nia) Cumberbatch, Bethyana (Alfred) Cumberbatch, Nicholas Cumberbatch and Cassie (Christopher) Cumberbatch; the "love of his life" Taliyah Cochran; "forever" friends, Terrence Brown, Anthony Johnson, Harold Seabrook, Dominic Mack, and a host of other relatives and friends who loved you dearly.
