Maxine Britt was born on September 3, 1951, to the late Henry Britt and Roxanna Britt in Saint George, SC. She was summoned by God's heavenly angels on January 15, 2021 at Colleton Medical Center.

Maxine accepted Christ at an early age at Bethel Baptist Church, St. George, SC. She received her education at Williams Memorial High School and was a member of the class of 1969. For many years, Maxine was employed at Deutshe Bank formerly known as Bankers Trust, in New York City before moving back home after retirement. It was during this time that she worked as a care giver serving and caring for others.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Deacon John Henry Britt, Reverend Jesse Britt, Reverend Julius Britt and Willie B. Lewis; four sisters, Camie E. Beckham, Thomasenia Walker, Henry B. McFadden, and Hazel Pankey.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: a devoted brother, Willie Gene Britt of St. George, SC and a loving sister, Joanne Lawrence of Summerville, SC, one daughter, Tonya Britt of Brooklyn, New York, a special niece, Tabatha Britt of Los Angeles, California, two sisters-in-law, Gloria Britt of St. George, SC and Elaine Britt of Myrtle Beach, SC and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
