Mary Shinn, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2021.  She was born on September 20, 1935.  She was one of nine children born to the late Morris and Marcina (Green) Stewart.  Mary was a member of Bethel #2 Pentecostal Holiness Church of St. George, SC.  Mary was married to Jones Shinn of Concord, NC.

During Mary's lifetime she loved to care for the sick and ailing to help bring comfort in their final days.  As a Home Health Aide, Mary was faithful, compassionate, and kind.  She cared for many families in Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties for years.  All those families considered her a member of their family.  Mary always believed in doing what's right and to be nice to everyone.  Mother Mary lived her life believing in I Corinthians 16:14 "Let all that you do be done in love."  Mary excelled at crocheting and enjoyed making items for her family and friends.  She also shared her love of food and cooking and made the best home cooked meals in town.

Mother Mary is survived by her sons, Darrell (Denise) Shinn of Lusby, MD and Morris (Tanya) Shinn of Summerville, SC; granddaughter, La'Maurice Shinn of St. George, SC; great granddaughter, Egypt Shinn of St. George, SC; sister, Dorothy Martin of New York, NY; sister-in-law, Mable Stewart of Reevesville, SC; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
