Obituary

In fulfillment of the plan God had for her life, the Lord called Mary Elizabeth Robinson home on October 29, 2020.

"Puddin", as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was born Mary Elizabeth Jackson on January 17, 1940 in Wilmington, North Carolina to (the late) Walter Jackson and Dalcy Nixon.  Puddin accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Ephesus S.D.A. Church in Wilmington, N.C.  She attended Oakwood College.  After many studies thorough out, she received her Master's Degree in Special Education.

Mary met, fell in love with (the late) George Edward Robinson, Sr., who preceded her in death.  They were united in Holy Matrimony in October 1960.  Their union was blessed with one daughter, Theresa Gail Robinson; three sons, George, Jr., DeWitt (Kim), Gail and James Eric (Kendra) Robinson.

Mary worked at the United States Post Office.  She then went on to work for the New York State Board of Education and continued working there until she retired in 1998.  She always met everyone with a smile that lit up the room.  She was dedicated to her work with Brooklyn Temple Seventh Day Adventist Church as a Kindergarten Sabbath School Teacher for over 30 years.

Mary loved to travel with her friends and husband.  She also loved to crochet and knit as well as being a skilled pianist.  She loved to help and support others.  Mary cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well.  She could always be found eating something, anything really, made of chocolate.  Growing up, she was well known at the Five and Dime in Wilmington, N.C. for buying perfume.  Her all time favorite hobby was shopping.

In addition to her four children, she leaves to mourn her eight grandchildren: Tyshaun, Javar, Keshia, Travis, Janay, Trevor, Brandon and Nariah; one daughter-in-law, Sheila Robinson; a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
