Mary P. Harrison, the daughter of the late George and Dorothy Polite departed this life on the morning of December 6, 2013. She was born and raised in Colleton County.

As a youth she joined St. John Baptist Church where she gave her hand to the church and her heart to God. She was a graduate of Colleton High School. She was also affiliated with Faith Revival Center and Miracle Deliverance Center. She loved serving God and loved to worship with other ministries. She worked for many years at Oak Wood Nursing Home and Idea Rental in Walterboro, SC.

Mary was married to the late Lefus Harrison. To this union eight children were born.

Left to cherish her loving memory, Loretha Ferguson (Kenneth), Hampton, VA, Minister Naomi Chisolm (Robert), Raleigh, NC, Minister Emily Williams (Jerome), Walterboro, SC, Jonathan Harrison, Walterboro, SC and Wynelle Harrison, Walterboro, SC. Three sons preceded her in death. Willie Lee, Leonard, and Antonio "Tony" Harrison. Seven Grandchildren, Timothy Harrison, La'Tonya Harrison, Jerome Andre Williams (Nakita), Kimberly Ferguson, Cedric Williams, LaQuana Chisolm, Robert "Bobby" Chisolm Jr. Two Grandchildren preceded her in death, Keshia and Troy Ferguson. Seven great-grandchildren, Dante Roberts, Ty'Shon, Ny'Twaun, and Gabrielle Murray, Kyleigh Williams and Matthew Phair, Jr. Four sisters, Thelma Gadson, Lennis Walker, Ruth Ann Shider (O'Harold) and Geraldine Basset (Lawrence), and one sister in-law Elizabeth Harrison. Three brothers Stanley Polite, Rev. Prince Polite (Samuela), and Rev. David Polite. One god-daughter Brenda Polite Hollington (Kenny) Charleston, SC. And a host of other relatives and friends.

Mother Harrison, gave birth to eight children, but she was a mother to many.
